As the TrackBoyz; Mark “Tarboy” Williams and Joe “Capo” Kent, managed by Jeremy Geffen Entertainment, have produced and engineered dozens hip-hop singles and albums. Williams got his start as a performer and was managing to scrape by peddling tracks of background beats when he met Kent in St. Louisin 1997, and ever since they have been producing beats.
Tarboy and Capo began to earn some notoriety as producers for Nelly (Cornell Haynes, Jr.) when “Nellyville” topped the Billboard charts in 2002. Nelly was one of the first rappers to break out of the local St. Louis scene, and the TrackBoyz were major contributors to his success.
The TrackBoyz have gone on to work with such artists as D12, Sean P, J-Kwon, Nappy Roots, and many others with Jeremy Geffen Entertainment. Directly after the TrackBoyz took J-Kwon under their wing they began promoting his single “Tipsy”, rapidly overran the urban markets and nearly toppedof the Billboard charts in 2004. Today the TrackBoyz continue to sign and develop new talent.
