As the TrackBoyz; Mark “Tarboy” Williams and Joe “Capo” Kent, managed by Jeremy Geffen Entertainment, have engineered and produced several hip-hop albums and singles. Williams got his start as a performer and was making a meager income selling background beat tracks when he was introduced to Kent in St. Louisin 1997, and since then they have been producing beats together.
Tarboy and Capo started to be widely noticed producing for Nelly (Cornell Haynes, Jr.) when his album “Nellyville” topped the Billboard charts in 2002. Nelly was one of the first rappers to break out of the local St. Louis scene at the time, and TrackBoyz production team were major contributors to his success.
Tarboy and Capo have also produced projects for such artists as D12, Sean P, J-Kwon, Nappy Roots, and many others with Jeremy Geffen Entertainment. Soon after Williams and Kent began to develop J-Kwon they started promoting his single “Tipsy”, rapidly overran the urban markets and crept near the topof the Billboard charts in 2004. Today the TrackBoyz continue to sign and develop new talent.
