The TrackBoyz; Mark “Tarboy” Williams and Joe “Capo” Kent, managed by Jeremy Geffen Entertainment, have produced and engineered many hip-hop albums and singles. Performing is how Williams got his start and was managing to scrape by selling background beat tracks in St. Louis when he met Kentin 1997, and they have been producing beats ever since.
The TrackBoyz started to be widely noticed while doing production for Nelly (Cornell Haynes, Jr.) when “Nellyville” rose to the top of the Billboard charts in 2002. Nelly was one of the first rappers from St. Louis to break out nationally at the time, and the TrackBoyz contributed a large part to his success.
The TrackBoyz have gone on to work with such artists as D12, Sean P, J-Kwon, Nappy Roots, and many others with Jeremy Geffen Entertainment. Soon after Williams and Kent took J-Kwon under their wing they began promoting his single “Tipsy”, which took the urban markets by storm and crept near the topof the Billboard charts in 2004. Today Tarboy and Capo continue to sign and develop new talent.
