The TrackBoyz; Mark “Tarboy” Williams and Joe “Capo” Kent, managed by Jeremy Geffen Entertainment, have engineered and produced dozens hip-hop albums and singles. Williams got his start as a performer and was managing to scrape by selling background beat tracks when he met Kent in St. Louisin 1997, and ever since they have been producing beats.
Tarboy and Capo started to be widely noticed while doing production for Nelly (Cornell Haynes, Jr.) as “Nellyville” rose to the top of the Billboard charts in 2002. Nelly was one of the first rappers from St. Louis to break out nationally at the time, and the TrackBoyz were no small part of his success.
Tarboy and Capo have also worked with various artists including D12, Sean P, J-Kwon, Nappy Roots, and many others with Jeremy Geffen Entertainment. Directly after Williams and Kent began to develop J-Kwon they began promoting his single “Tipsy”, which took the urban markets by storm and crept near the topof the Billboard charts in 2004. Today Tarboy and Capo continue to sign and develop new talent.
